Cheyenne Schaub

Bio
While a native Quebecoise from the Outaouais region, Cheyenne has spent the last 11 years living on the Caribbean coast of Belize and the island of Roatan. Her father gave her a ukulele when she was seven years old, and she took to it like a fish to water. It wasn't long after that she learned to play guitar and began writing her own songs. Always eager to get on stage, Cheyenne has performed dozens of times singing and playing guitar at local music festivals.
Cheyenne has spent the last 8 years on Roatan and graduated from high school at the age of 16. Roatan is an idyllic island paradise off the coast of Honduras. Life is slow and laid back and far from the fast paced world from which Cheyenne came -- phone and internet service only recently introduced, frequent power outages, no malls, no fast food, no movie theatres, only miles and miles of white sandy beach, crystal blue waters, and a reef system sought after by divers worldwide. Cheyenne's schooling varied from a little 'three room school house' on stilts over the sea, to home-schooling at the resort her parents managed, to helping pioneer the first private high school in which she and 3 others were the first students, all of whom graduated in 2012. Now the school has since expanded to K-12 with about 100 students. Cheyenne has been working at the school helping the younger Spanish students learn English.
Over the years, Cheyenne has continued to learn guitar, bass, flute, and keyboards. She has performed at various venues on Roatan such as Blue Marlin, Tranquil Seas, Earth Mama's, Beachers, Blue Channel, Infinity Bay, Slippery Sue's, and Bananarama. She has been mentored by several local musicians including local legend Brion James who is a regular headliner on Roatan, a singer/songwriter who used to tour with the Rolling Stones.
Cheyenne has performed twice in the annual Vagina Monologues -- performing My Short Skirt and The Joke About My Nose. She was the stage manager for two dinner theatre productions -- Cafe Noir and Love Letters -- that ran for several months each. And Cheyenne has been an integral part of her local church for the last 3 years both in production and soulful performances every Sunday.
But now it is time for Cheyenne to continue on her journey, and she returns to Montreal to further her studies and hone her skills in sound and video production, as well as vocal and instrumental skills development.
